Amy Luftig Viste – A Woman’s Perspective on Co-Owning a Winery in Los Angeles

January 13, 2021 | By Joy Chudacoff Leave a Comment

Amy Luftig Viste on She's Got Moxie with Joy ChudacoffAmy Luftig is the co-owner of Angeleno Wine Company in Los Angeles. She began her career in public health, however, after moving west to Los Angeles and volunteering to help a winemaker during a “harvest” she found “love at first sight” (or in this case love at first harvest).

Amy fell head over heels with the day-to-day routine in the vineyard and decided that she should follow her dream. She started with an idea, a passion for vino and along with her partner, turned it into a business.

On today’s episode of She’s Got Moxie, Amy tells us all about her transformative internship experience, the wine history of California, and how she developed her knowledge in wine. She also talks about her journey to co-own the company, her perspective on running a successful Kickstarter campaign and her best action steps to get visibility, and more.

5 Style Strategies For Success

March 21, 2014 | By Joy Chudacoff Leave a Comment

Young beautiful business woman. Over blue background. One of the top priorities for women entrepreneurs who desire to grow their business is visibility. This is an area I spend considerable time on with my clients – creating a plan for them to get noticed and seen as an expert in their field or industry. Whether it’s public speaking, attending events or hosting a workshop, getting out of the office is one of the fastest and most profitable ways to accelerate the success of your business. This is where strategic partnerships are created and the referral process begins to happen.

If you want to be taken seriously and give people the impression that you are the “go to gal” in your industry, it’s essential that you show up looking sharp and savvy. When I’m working in my home office, it’s hair pulled back, no makeup and Uggs for me but you wouldn’t find me at an event looking that way! Whether we like it or not, people form opinions about us early on based on how we show up.

Here are five strategies to consider before you step out to meet and greet new business opportunities:

Smart Women And The 5 Fundamental Questions for Business Success

December 2, 2011 | By Joy Chudacoff Leave a Comment

I’m finding that many women entrepreneurs are reflecting on their year and a question that seems to be on the minds of many is: “What are tools and strategies I need for my business to take a big leap in the New Year?” As I reflect on this question, I realize the answer is two-fold. If you are serious about making 2012 the year that you soar in business and make big leaps in income, you must first ask yourself a few questions (and get honest with yourself about the answers):

1. Is my business Viable? Do people want my product or service? This is where doing some research on your industry can be quite valuable. Just because “no one else is doing it” doesn’t always mean it’s a great business opportunity. Yes, Steve Jobs did quite well being “the first” in his industry but many times success can be yours by taking an existing business concept and improving on it. Also, find out what the range of fees or prices are in your industry. Make sure you price your winning product or service so people will be clamoring to get their hands on it.

2. Is my business Visible? Visibility is a huge key to success. You may be the best coach, lawyer, virtual assistant or pet sitter in the world however, if you don’t have a marketing plan that is designed to get you seen and heard, you will remain the best kept secret in town! Getting your product or service out there in a big way makes a huge difference in how much growth you can expect in the coming year.

Smart Women Get Out of The Office

September 30, 2010 | By Joy Chudacoff Leave a Comment

With summer behind us and kids back in school, women entrepreneurs are flocking to conferences and events to connect with other entrepreneurs and discover new ways to grow their business.  Whether you’re in a startup phase or you’ve been in business a few years, getting out from behind your desk and showing up at events is one of the most effective “offline” marketing tools you can use.
