Today is the 4th and final critical moment when your client needs you. Followup is essential and here's a great tip on how to let people know you really care about them and stay in touch.
When they need a nudge to do something— There is a marketing rule that states that a person needs to see your message SEVEN times before they are ready to take action on it. This is why follow-up is critical. Following up is a way to show that you care, that you have not forgotten about them. And it also honors the simple nature of how people buy (which we can all relate to). People aren't always ready to take out their wallets, so they have to get a little nudge.
Here are a few ideas:
- Send a check-in email, “Just wanted to see how you were doing, if you could use my help, etc.“
- Send a reminder that highlights why working with you is the best investment over the other solutions they may be considering. “Hi, noticed you haven't yet signed up, purchased, etc. I wanted to send a note, and share a few of the reasons I offer a stellar service, you won't find anywhere else.
- Send them an urgency/deadline email, “Hi there, just wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of my special offer.” Treat this as a simple reminder of why they need to act fast, why what you're asking them to do is time-sensitive.
Becoming a master at followup will change your business in powerful ways, and teach you skills that will serve you again and again as an entrepreneur.
