Last week was an emotional one for me. Our youngest child Jenna, “graduated” elementary school and is on her way to middle school in the fall. I went through a whole host of emotions – happy, sad and mostly feelings of loss as an era has closed in my life. Gone are the morning walks to school and having Mr. “G”, our crossing guard for seven years, guide us safely to the other side of the street. Life is constantly in motion and the only thing you can be sure of is change. Make sure you spend your days meaningfully. : -)
Why is it that I always forget how busy the month of May is? With end of school year celebrations, women’s conferences and sports playoff games, things have been moving at a fast pace here at our house.
Last week, I had the opportunity to MC the South Bay Women’s Conference and lead a very interesting panel on succeeding in male dominated industries. I could have spent an entire day talking with these women – smart & wise conversation. : -)
I’ve been off the grid for the past few weeks enjoying spring break with my family and then I took a trip to the East Coast to spend some time with my father who’s ailing. I also had a chance to reconnect with several friends from childhood and college, which is always a special treat.
May is conference season and I’m traveling locally quite a bit in order to connect with women entrepreneurs. On May 9th, I’ll be the MC and panel leader for the South Bay Women’s Conference here in Los Angeles. I just got the word that the conference is completely sold out so I’m thrilled about the electric energy that will be inside that room! Then the California Women’s Conference is coming up on May 19 & 20 with a great lineup of women who are dedicated to creating change and shaping the future for women. If you plan to attend either of these events, be sure to let me know so we can connect and give each other a hug. : -)
This weekend, along with my co-leader, I’m headed out to an overnight camping trip with our Girl Scout Troop. There’s no glamping here – we are truly roughing it. I’m not a huge fan of camping so wish me luck. : -)
We’re just back from a family “glamping” getaway to El Capitan just north of Santa Barbara. I love the Familyoutdoors, however I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to camping so this is the perfect solution for our family. The beautiful, small cabins are complete with heat, running hot water, shower and a mini fridge. : -) We hiked, biked, and sat around the campfire eating s’mores.
Today, I’m headed east to see my parents and sister in Charleston, West Virginia. I’m looking forward to spending the Easter weekend with them and hopefully reconnecting with some friends while I’m there.
Although April has arrived, I’m still wearing sweaters and Ugg boots most days – it’s chilly here along the Pacific. : -)
Next week, I’ll be heading to warm & sunny Scottsdale, Arizona to spend the day with Ali Brown where we’ll meet with the members of our 90 Day Coaching Profit System for a special bonus day. We’ve spent the last 12 weeks working with this group online to help them build and grow more profitable coaching businesses and I’m looking forward to meeting these women in person.
Happy first day of spring! I love celebrating this day as it serves as a reminder to me that change is normal, natural and necessary if we are to truly live a meaningful life.
I had the good fortune to spend a few days this week with members of the Elevate community here in LA at the Elevate Live event. I met many new people who are just beginning their entrepreneurial journey and reconnected with members who are grounded in their continued business vision. It’s truly an honor and a privilege to coach alongside Ali Brown, Sue Painter and James Roche – three coaches who are tops in my book!
I woke this morning to birds chirping outside my window, which serves as a reminder that spring is just around the corner. Time passes, seasons change and it’s important to embrace your dreams, goals and all that calls to your soul. I’m certainly thinking about new “seeds” to plant for my own growth. How about you?
Mother Nature reminds us that spring is a time of transition. It’s not only normal – it’s necessary. If you’re feeling like change is on the horizon but not sure what’s next, I invite you to pick up a copy of my new book, “What’s Next?: The 7 Steps to Discover Your Big Idea and Create a Wildly Successful Business.” You’ll discover the Six Feminine Energies™ (once you understand this, everything in your life becomes much easier : -) ) and you’ll also get the tools you need to develop a solid plan of action to accomplish your dreams and goals. Whether it’s training for a marathon or starting a new business, it’s all there for you. www.WhatsNextTheBook.com
I’m back in my office this week after traveling quite a bit for both family and business reasons. It’s nice to be “grounded” with family and have some time to reflect on the last few weeks and plan for the journey ahead. I had an awesome retreat with the members of my Smart Women SOAR™ Elite program a few weeks ago. We spent several days focused on identifying new income streams and strategies to make more profit in their businesses this year. I’m immensely proud of the work each member is doing and thrilled to be a part of their entrepreneurial journey.
The last week has been all about travel for me – both business and personal. I spent a few days celebrating my dad’s 85th birthday and then from there I met up with Ali Brown and James Roche for a few Elevate events here in LA. Today, I’m headed to a peaceful, relaxing spa location in Southern California where I’ll join the members of my Smart Women SOAR Elite™ group for a weekend of connection, business planning and celebration.
Life continues to be busy – yet extremely rewarding. I’m feeling fortunate to be doing this work. I hope the same is happening for you as well, however if you’re in the question about what’s next (it’s a natural evolution so embrace!) I invite you to pick up a copy of my new book, “What’s Next?: The 7 Steps to Discover Your Big Idea and Create a Wildly Successful Business.” www.WhatsNextTheBook.com
Happy New Year! I’m writing to you this week from South Florida where I’m spending time with my family and visiting my parents. The weather here has been less than “sunny & tropical” with rain every day AND our daughter Jenna came down with strep throat :-(. Having said that, we are enjoying this special time together and I’m grateful to be with my family. :-)
