Dr. Amy Kramer – She Saw a Great Opportunity After Her Own Dog Had Surgery and Beach Animal Rehabilitation Was Born (BARC)

June 13, 2018 | By Freedom Leave a Comment

According to pet care industry research in 2016, health care services for pets was nearly $16 billion dollars and growing.

After her dog had surgery, Dr. Amy Kramer, a physical therapist, saw that what she does with her patients every day would be a great rehab solution for her dog. The physical therapy worked and Amy couldn’t stop thinking about all the vets performing surgery across LA and how those dogs would need her physical therapy treatment. This lead Dr. Kramer to open the doors to Beach Animal Rehabilitation Center (BARC) which works to incorporate rehabilitation techniques so that pets can get well again.

On today’s show, we’ll talk about how Dr. Kramer got started in her now very successful business, her BEST tips for growth, how she deals with employees, her #1 productivity tip, what she thinks about the NBA finals, and more.

Sleep Your Way to The Top

June 27, 2014 | By Joy Chudacoff Leave a Comment

Sleep Your Way to The TopThere’s one slight shift you can make in your daily habits that could reap BIG rewards. In fact, this habit has been linked to better decision-making, creativity, health and even weight-loss. Do you know what it is? Sleep.

Making a commitment (experts say seven to eight hours is preferable) to sleep can create a dramatic impact in every area of your life. In Arianna Hufffington’s new book, “Thrive“, she shares a study from Harvard Medical School’s Division of Sleep Medicine that lack of sleep impacts mood, ability to focus, creativity and generally affects our mental performance. Mental performance is a top requirement for entrepreneurs!

Ever notice when the topic of sleep comes up, the conversation goes something like this: “I only had four hours of sleep last night – working on a big project.” “I had so much work to do that I just couldn’t get to bed before midnight!” Lack of sleep has become a status symbol. If you get too much, somehow this gets translated into: “She doesn’t have enough to do-she’s not busy enough.” Stop the madness. Move away from this mindset.

12-19-13Article 2014

At the end of each year, I take an inventory of my life and business to shine a light on what proved to be most effective for me.

Here are my top nine timely tips for women entrepreneurs who are ready to make a Big Leap in 2014:

1.    Exercise Empathy – If you have a dream of making a difference in the world or desire a leadership role, empathy is a valuable tool you’ll need along the way. As the great leader Stephan Covey said, “Seek first to understand.” Understanding and acknowledging someone else’s situation is the foundation to change.

2. Make Decisions – Set a goal to become a quick decision maker. Remember, money likes speed so your ability to make quick decisions will serve you well in business. Do your research but at some point, call time and decide.
