How are you? I’m officially in summer mode schedule with kids camps all throughout the city which means I’m in the car a lot more than I’m used to. It’s given me an opportunity to embrace my patience at a whole new level. :-)

Yesterday, I facilitated an amazing event with the Broads Circle, a women’s networking organization here in Los Angeles. I had the opportunity to interview three women who are experts in the field of marketing in a crowded room of 75 women! Marketing is a hot topic and women all around LA turned out for this event. Here I am with Ali Brown, myself, Merri Jill Finstrom, Tracy Olmstead Williams, and Darya Allen-Attar.

By the way, I wanted to offer you a quick reminder about scheduling an appointment for your yearly checkup if you haven’t done so yet this year. I have a “standing” appointment for what I call “the whole enchilada” every July to make sure my body remains strong and healthy. I received a thumbs up on everything, however I did find out I’m deficient in Vitamin D and slightly anemic so I’ve just started with some new vitamins. If you want to be your best, it’s important to nurture your body (even when it feels like you don’t have time.)

It’s continues to be a busy month with graduations, 50th birthdays and celebrations of every kind to honor the closing of a chapter in life and open the door to embrace the new. As a family, we are getting excited for summer with no homework or early bedtime routines.

I spent the morning at my children’s school volunteering at their annual “Olympic Day.” This is one of my favorite events at our school. I love watching the kids participate in all the sporting events. This year, Jack and Jenna were on teams representing Costa Rica and Tanzania. Here’s Jenna competing in the “Hippity Hop” race!

I read an article recently that Home Depot discovered they were not serving their customers in certain geographic areas well.  Management noticed there were a large number of lawn mowers sitting on their warehouse floors in Arizona.  If you think about it, lawn mowers in a desert climate don’t make a lot of sense, do they?  Home Depot had to take a look at where their stores are located and tailor the products they offered to the local consumers.  If Home Depot can make this kind of error, is it possible you could as well?

I know that many of the programs I offer women—my Success Circles, coaching, etc., were on a very local level for a long time here in Los Angeles.  If you have watched my business grow, you have seen that over time I began to do teleseminars and a lot more public speaking.  That was because it’s not realistic to expect that women could always come directly to me to get the information I have to offer on how to create an extraordinary life personally and professionally.

Ellen, the WOW organizer is quite resourceful and amazing.  She hosts gatherings where women and men can come together in a safe, fun setting to meet and learn more about one another.  I spoke to these women about “Creating The Spark; Igniting Passion for The Work and Life You Love.”  It was well-received and timely as many of the women are looking to make changes in both their personal and professional lives. 

We enjoyed a delicious dinner, had a meaningful and energetic conversation and closed the evening with a birthday celebration for one of the members that included a delicious cake!

These types of events give me a feeling of gratitude.  To have the opportunity to do this work and integrate a full life for myself and family is truly what it’s all about for me.
