It’s easy to beat yourself up if you feel like you haven’t been moving forward in your business
– especially when you are coming to the end of another year. I know because I’ve done it myself, many times.
You feel stuck and unsure what to do which can sometimes seem like failure. Nearly 7 years ago, I started my business with the dream of supporting women to their next Big Idea and help them achieve success in their lives and businesses. Although having a DREAM and a DESIRE were both essential in the beginning, I spent the first few years SURVIVING instead of THRIVING. My business was up and down every month and cash flow was inconsistent.
Fast forward to TODAY:
• I have a THRIVING business that has consistent cash flow month after month
• I work with my ideal client – I really do LOVE them all!
• My work inspires me and more importantly, my clients get results
• I have plenty of time for family and self-care

Commitment. It’s a powerful word that conjures up a mix of emotions and can be a scary thought– especially in business. Being committed to something means you’re choosing not to be committed to something else – sounds simple, right? In essence, you’re pledging or engaging in a relationship to the exclusion of others. In my work supporting women entrepreneurs, I find fear of commitment in business can make the difference between mediocre results and extraordinary results.
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to multiple women’s conferences and speak to scores of women entrepreneurs about their Big Ideas, Dreams and Goals. Questions come up on a range of topics including how to start a business to taking an existing business to the next level of success. One question that seems to have a recurring theme right now is “How do I create a successful business while maintaining work/life balance?” Great question! And one that deserves an answer with some solid tips and solutions.
When you start a new business or take action on a big idea that you’ve had brewing for a while, it can be a very exciting time. You begin to get a taste of what entrepreneurship can feel like; you’re in control of your own schedule, maybe you worked for someone else and you’ve escaped the rigid 9-5 routine and you’ve become your own boss – life feels good.
While vacationing in Park City this summer, I was enjoying my morning coffee on the deck overlooking the majestic mountains when all of a sudden, several hot air balloons “popped” into my view. The colors of each balloon were bright, vivid, and unique. Some were like rainbows; others were bright red, yellow and gold. They rose to varying heights in the sky, each one navigating their own unique path around the valley. This got me thinking about how Smart Women’s Big Ideas, Dreams and Goals are a lot like hot air balloons.
