I’m Fired Up For Success!

Hey Smart Women! I’m writing to you today from Ft. Lauderdale Florida where I’m visiting my Mom and sister, Rene 05-21-09joymomrene for a “girl’s getaway.” We’ve gone to the beach, shopping, seen movies, shared delicious meals and great conversation. I’ll be on my way back to LA later today. I feel so fortunate to have had this time with my Mom and Sister.

Before I left for my trip last Saturday, an interesting thing happened: I lost my cell phone. You can imagine how I felt getting on a plane without a phone–a little anxious without that “link” to my family. There was a “hidden” opportunity: It gave me the time and space to be alone with my “committee of one.” I had time to reflect on my own personal vision without the impulse of calling someone else to see what they thought about my ideas. It also gave me a reason to reach out and talk to new people—going through security, in the airport terminal, on the plane. I am so curious about other people and what they’re thinking. There’s always a silver lining…
